The MED Foundation The MED Foundation is the charitable, non-profit, 501(C) 3 fundraising arm for the Regional Medical Center at Memphis (The MED). Founded in 1986, the Foundation operates for the benefit of The MED with a volunteer Board of Directors, which guides the fundraising, allocations and investment of dollars. The Foundation’s fund began with a transfer of $50,000 from donations received by the hospital from Elvis fans. The Mission of the Foundation is to provide financial support and community awareness for The Med. The Three year strategic goals are:
Dollars raised through the activities of The MED Foundation benefit The MED, its Eight Centers of Excellence, affiliated medical and outreach programs. These include: Adult Special Care Bariatric Center Diggs-Kraus Sickle Cell Center Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center Firefighters Regional Burn Center High Risk Obstetrics Center Sheldon B. Korones Newborn Center Wound Center Foundation fundraising activities include an annual MED PRIDE Campaign among employees, personal solicitations, grant writing, and special events. All contributions are tax deductible as allowed by law and all donated dollars benefit The MED directly.
