Jean
As Jean Fisher prepared for a dinner party for close friends, she climbed atop a chair to retrieve a serving dish. Jean took a nasty fall at her house that day, severely cutting her right leg. The impact of her landing caused the skin on her leg to burst open, wide and deep. Her husband, John T. Fisher, former Executive Director of The MED Foundation, knew exactly where to take his wife. He quickly transported her to the Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center.
After doctors stitched Jean up, she was transferred to the Wound Center, where she was in rehab for more than six weeks. Jean fondly remembers the prompt, professional, and polite staff at both Centers of Excellence. “I felt truly at ease and was confident that everything would be fine because of the thoughtful, experienced nurses,” said Jean.
While Jean obviously knew a great deal about The MED, she’d never been a patient before. Nearly two years later, with her injury completely healed, she continues to support The MED Foundation.
