RIDE FOR YOUR MIND and WALK FOR THOUGHT

  

Saturday, June 21, 2008 Traumatic Brain Injury Services will hold the RIDE FOR YOUR MIND bike ride and this year has expanded it to include a WALK FOR THOUGHT. Both are volunteer driven, fundraising events to heighten awareness about the prevalence and effects of brain injury, which is the leading cause of death and disability for young adults in the United States.

These events will be held at 2986 Kate Bond, Saint Francis Hospital – Bartlett (just off Hwy 64). Registration Opens for the RIDE FOR YOUR MIND at 6:45 a.m. and the RFYM will begin at 8:00 a.m. Individual registration is $25 and $125 for a TEAM of 5 riders. Top TEAMS will be recognized in three categories: 1) Best Dressed/Creativity, 2) Team Name, and 3) Team Spirit. Bikes Plus will be available to provide a mechanical adjustment prior to the beginning of the RFYM and Emergency Mobile Healthcare will provide medical support. ANSI, SNELL approved bicycle helmets must be worn while riding. NO EXCEPTIONS! Riders will have their choice of a well supported 25 or 50 mile route.

Registration Opens for the WALK FOR THOUGHT at 8:00 a.m. and the WALK will begin at 9:00 a.m. Individual registration is $20 and $60 for a TEAM of 3 people. The WALK is open and accessible to all including those in strollers and wheelchairs. Walkers will have their choice of a 1-mile of 3.1 (5k) walk.

Participants who register by June 15, 2008 will receive a T-shirt and be entered into a drawing for some great door prizes.
