It’s that time of year again. Pride time!
The 2011 MED Pride is powered by the theme “Excellence is Everywhere.” This reflects the goal set by MED CEO Dr. Coopwood to extend excellence beyond the four Centers of Excellence to the entire hospital.
By achieving this goal, The MED can evolve into a hospital of choice in the community and successfully compete with other hospitals for insured patients.
“Employee support for MED Pride is an engine for excellence in our hospital,” said Tammie Ritchey, executive director of The MED Foundation. “Last year more than 1700 employees donated $147,000 to The Med Foundation. These employee donations fund advanced equipment, training and scholarships. Through MED Pride all of our employees, regardless of their work, are connected to saving lives.”
As part of this year’s “Excellence is Everywhere” initiative, Ritchey and Coopwood are asking employees to donate an extra $50.00 above their previous year’s donation to MED Pride.
“An additional $50.00 from each of our employees will give us almost $100,000 extra to fund excellence-related initiatives,” said Ritchey. “Every employee who pledges an extra $50.00 will receive a badge holder with the letters IGMEF – I gave my extra fifty. So when you see IGMEF, you know that employee is helping to fund excellence everywhere.”
